Kroger Complaint - Kroger just a bad store you cannot trust
PINCKNEY, MICHIGAN -- First off there is a good reason I see the Kroger managers shopping at the competitors store. They know not tho shop at Kroger.
Kroger card only prevents you from being heavily overcharged. Not a savings or discount. There should be a consumer protection law against this type of practice.
Every time they have a meat sale and I mean all the time, Kroger switches out the USDA CHOICE for the lesser USDA SELECT cuts. The price normally read something outrageous like reg price 16.99/lb (on what planet). End result unknowing consumers pay 7.99/lb for a 4.99/lb cut of meat.
Produce is over watered to increase weight and drive up scale price. Watering promotes decay in produce. They also peel back the decay and re-package as fresh. Found several items I would have disposed of days ago. Almost all items were mixed in with old decaying produce.
Picked up a loaf of their fresh baked whole grain sliced bread, turned over to check the date which is always necessary...packaged on the 8/17 sell by 8/20. Very fresh except today is 8/15.
2 over charges on a less than 10 item purchase. Both were number jumble. onions 2.47 a bag came up 2.74 lettuce 1.09 came up 1.90. Lettuce ended up being old and rubbery.
This is just one visit, I could recount many others.
To be fair they have decent prices on boxed and pre-paired foods, but I don't buy much in the way of those items.
Bottom line they have plans to steal your wallet.
