Goodfellas Pizza (Downtown Atlanta) Complaint - Yellow Water

Review by Redafro on 2010-08-17
ATLANTA, GEORGIA -- Last week I had lunch at the Goodfellas Pizza in Downtown Atlanta on Peachtree Street.

I asked for water (complimentary) and was given a cup and said to retrieve the water from the Ice Tea Dispenser.

The water from the dispenser came out yellow-ish color and not clear as I am used to seeing water ordinarily.

I told the Manager that my was not clear and I didn't feel comfortable drinking it, and I could get a bottle of clear water.

She (Jennifer) said that was just the way it came out because of tea in the Tea Dispenser and she said it was filtered but since the tea comes through the same line within the dispenser it would colorize the water, but the "water was fine", and if I wanted clear water I would have to pay for the bottle water. I was not satisfied with her answer and said I would write a letter.

I still was not satisfied with drinking yellow-water, so I refused to drink that water nor pay for the bottled water.

Not long later one of the Servers (DJ) asked if we were ok with your lunch and I proceeded to tell him about the incident. He went and brought me a bottled water THEN proceeded to tell me about the Tea Dispenser ... He explained that if you let the water run throught the line 30 or so seconds the water line would clear up. I thanked he for AT LEAST giving me an explaination about the water, but suggested they put a sign up to inform customers about the water and what to do get it to come out clear (as most of us are use drinking CLEAR water).

Next time (IF I EVER GO BACK) I will bring my own CLEAR water.

As far as I thought bottled water is not free at restaurants. How's the pizza there? We moved here from Chicago 6 months ago and I haven't found good pizza.

This happened once at McDonald's. I ran the water several times for 30 seconds or so and it never cleared up. Tasted ok though.

That's what happens when the water line is shared. We had 2 drink fountains at my one job, on one side the water was through tea, the other was through fruit punch. You either got yellow tinted water or pink water. Seriously, it's not something to complain about. You could always go into the bathroom and drink tap water if it's that much of a concern. It was FREE to you anyway.

Yellow water should be treated like yellow snow - don't consume it!
