Lennar Corp Complaint - Despicable Coast to Coast

Review by Macgjack on 2010-08-17
Recently I read an article in my local newspaper about Lennar Corporation involved in fraud from a failed land venture with the California Public Employees’ Retirement System Fund. This does not surprise me. I saw them together with homebuilder US Homes take a parcel of land in Fort Myers, Florida and bulldoze the last stand of original growth native oak trees in that part of the state. The small parcel had over 125 oak trees, all in good health and most of them over 150 years in age. What they constructed were poorly designed, cheap quality townhouses. At the time, city staff was instructed not to review their plans or require them to comply with current codes which would have required preservation of the trees. This was because of a special deal they had already reached with elected officials. No matter what coast they seem to be on their business dealings are despicable.
