Alaska Airlines Complaint - Unjustified fees - ticketing

Alaska Airlines billed me a for ticketing fee of $15 dollars that was not justified. I purposely made my reservation on line on 8/16 to avoid th ticketing fee if you have them make the reservation. I encountered an internal error and was told to contact Customer Care. I did that and that person assisted me with the problem. I was NEVER told that I wouold be billed for this, otherwise I would have tried again. I called them the next evening 8/17, when I received email confirmation about this unjust ticketing fee. That lady felt the billing was unjust, too but I had to call Customer Care in the am. I called on 8/18 and spoke to Shannon- she told me that because my computer speed did no match the speed of Alaska Air, that I was supposed to have tried again. This was NOT mentioned on 8/16. She was very rude and basically told me that they could not refund that fee because of my slower computer. She said 99% of the time, that that was the problem. To me, it seems Alaska Air is trying to make eay money that way on unsuspecting clients.

I agree with you on this,cammie! I call foul on Alaska Airlines! If they hate customers so much, why do they even bother being in business?

Up the ante: ask to speak to a supervisor and tell him or her what happened. Perhaps they can reverse the charge for you. Give it a try--never hurts to ask.
