Best Buy Complaint - Best Buy "Replacement Warranty" is a SCAM
PEARLAND, TEXAS -- I purchased a Virgin Mobile phone, at the check out the cashier asked if we wanted to purchase the "Replacement Warranty". I asked what it covers, and was told QUOTE: "The phone will be replaced no questions asked, for any reason" Well for $19.99 plus tax for 2 years of complete coverage, I jumped on the deal. Guess what just over a month later my daughter dropped the phone out of the car window and it broke apart. We took it back to Best Buy and were told the warranty does not cover damage, only the software. After advising the Manager that we were flat out lied to about the no questions asked warranty, Mr. Overton also stated the warranty does not cover damage. I demanded a refund for the warranty and was at least given a refund for the worthless warranty. THIS IS A BIG SCAM you can not even read about what the warranty covers until you purchase it. For some reason I tend to believe what a store employee tells me about a product. Next time I will do my homework first, there are hundreds of complaints about being told the warranty will cover anything and everything. The complaints are nation wide, so it is obvious that Best buy is teaching there employees how to push the warranty scam so they can bring in extra revenue. Someone should start a class action lawsuit against Best Buy.
