Microdyne Complaint - Poorly Treated Employees

Review by ironwolf81 on 2005-02-10
ORONO, MAINE -- I work at Microdyne in Orono. I have had a lot of jobs, and a lot of bad jobs, but this is by far the worst on so many levels. The Management will lie straight to your face; Dell who we have the contract with hampers your ability to do ANYTHING and then you get chewed out by Dell and Microdyne.

The pay scale is a joke, they're constantly changing it so it's literally impossible to get PFP (and don't respond with "oh this person did" because they're the suck-ups who know the people that massage the figures). And they also have a vastly unfair point system (which personally I've never ran into problems with). All in all it's a poorly run company and for $7.50 an hour it's not worth the abuse and b.s. you have to put up with.

$7.50 an hour is ludicrous pay! I would also look for a better paying job elsewhere. The quality of their employees will be a reflection of their hourly wage, something for Microdyne to consider!

Well it's all any job in the area really pays. North of Portland, Maine is a pretty poor place.

A PFP system?
And.. how is it possible to massage the numbers?
Isnt it all controlled by computers or something... or do they really have the power to change it?
I mean.. if they can change it.. thats not a very secure system!
How long did you work there with it like that?
I read another review on this company and they mentined that its pretty much all done on computers?
That must be cool to do everything on them!
No paperwork!

They massage the numbers by this. Your PFP is not computer-based. It's based on reviews of some outsourced company listening in on your calls and scoring them on a piece of paper. They were under orders not to let anyone get PFP (the scorers were in India and I was told by 2 managers they would be fired if they scored us high enough to get PFP).
