DirecTV Inc Complaint - Multiple Complaints
GREENWOOD VILLAGE, COLORADO -- I use to be with another company for my television signal and "Direct TV" has been after me for a few years. I finally capitulated and decided to give them a try. I made an appointment for installation and when the tech came in He was very courteous and seemed to be a nice guy. When He tried to get a signal He couldn't, so I walked behind the TV and found the problem. The wires He installed where too short and they were pulling and not plugged all the way in. I plugged them in and it was fine. I didn't think anything of this, everyone makes mistakes. After He left, I put longer wires on and it worked fine, for a couple of days. On a Friday morning I went to put my TV on and the satellite box had no power. I did all the troubleshooting and "Direct TV" decided to send me a new "HD Receiver", but refused to send it overnight. I had to wait three days for the mail to get to me. I didn't think that was right and told them so. I guess they just didn't care.
I decided to get a "HD Receiver" for my other television and there advertising said it was $99.00, but they wouldn't send it to me. They needed $49.00 for a so called professional to open a box and replace a "HD Wire" and plug it in. As far as I'm concerned this is highway robbery. I installed the defective box and there is no reason why I couldn't replace the standard box with a "HD Receiver" Needless to say, I was a little upset with this company and charges should be brought on them for false, deceptive and fraudulent advertising. When there is no way of getting that receiver for $99.00. I did talk to a supervisor named Josh and He gave me nothing but excuses. This is wrong and they should not be able to get away with this.
