Lowe's Complaint - Watch out for on line purchases of Lowe's products
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA -- I ordered and paid for an outdoor storage shed on line and was instructed to pick it up at a nearby store. Before I got there a representative from that store called and said they did not have the item, but another near by store did and I could pick it up there. When I got to that store I was told that I had not been billed and would have to pay for the shed at the second store. I asked for a receipt and/or written statement to that effect. The customer representative assured me that the first order had not been billed to me but was not able to provide anything in writing to that effect. I did not buy the shed. When I got home I went on line and discovered that I had been billed for the first shed. I went to my bank and was told that the billing was "pending" and there was nothing they could do until the bill was final at which point I could file a fraudulent charge against the billing. Meanwhile, had I paid for the shed again, I would have overdrawn my account and racked up fees not only for that incident, but for several other items, gasoline and whatnot that I had purchased in the meantime. In short, these guys don't know what they're doing and they advised me to pursue a course that would have caused me all kinds of hassles in addition to the hassles already caused by them.
