Penny's and Kohll's Informative - Women have hips - women's clothing

Review by kindamad on 2010-08-21
Ladies of a certain size revolt!Sizes ranging from misses 14 to 18 and big ladies 14w to a small 1x won't fit. And some sizes such as size 18 left out of the pickings and the rest must be made for Jr. women.
Manufacturer's attention! please women have hips!!!! for instance to-day at Penny's there was the most neatest t type shirt with a zebra across it tried on top part was fine hit waist and so small couldn't imagine pulling over hips. If an item fit's they either make big material at behind's or if top think we have bazooms for busts. I'm tired of miss fitting things if stuff made right we would buy 1 of every kind that we like. This complaint goes out to all manfacturer's of clothing and buyers for stores. we don't ask for our bodies to become heavier as we get older but it seems no matter how careful a person is the weight comes on and not all leaves. We can't all be teenage thin.

People wonder why I won't shop at Kohl's & this is one of those reasons.

I don't like Penney's and haven't shopped there in years, but I think Kohl's has something for everyone. You just have to look for styles that fit your figure and not ones that are trendy or not meant for your age. My biggest complaint is with pants and jeans. Why is everything so darn long?

I agree, Kohl's usually has a fairly good selection for all sizes. Venice, I'll take all the long legged pants and jeans you can find, I usually have trouble in that area, lol!

Now that you mention it, jc, I've seen short sizes in Kohl's but not tall. Even the short size is too long for me because I only wear flats. If pants are too long they can be shortened, but if you can't find pants that are long enough, that's even worse.

Just like everything in life, there is a usual statistical size that people are, and most clothing is made to fit them. Those who do not fit the norm are considered outside the majority I guess. I have no complains with Kohls or Penny's because I'm a lean woman and everything fits me swell. I don't have "hips" or "bazooms". Sounds like a personal problem?

Nah, you're just lucky :). I heard somewhere that a few years back they made the actual sizes a little bigger. So, a size 6 in 1990 is more like a 4 in 2010.

May I suggest buying your pants at Target? They are the very few pairs of pants that fit properly. I think they are Mossimo. I'd check but I'd have to take them off and my coworkers wouldn't appreciate it. And I hear you about the upper half, although upon re-reading I think I have the opposite problem. No matter how slim I get (which right now is not very), I can never find a top to accomodate my rack without having a ton of loose material in the waste. I will say I have found a few shirts at Kohls that work-Croft & Barrow. Forget Daisy Fuentes and Vera Wang.

Maybe shopping at a store like Lane Bryant that caters to "women of a certain size" would yield more favorable results.
