Vavoline Instant Oil Change Complaint - Theft - Oil Change

Review by rob0076 on 2010-08-24
CARROLLTON -- On August 20, 2010, I went to Valvoline to get an oil change and get an inspection sticker change. My car was in the shop for half an hour and I was waiting in the waiting room while they were taking care of my car. I accidentally left my digital camera in my car. Once I returned home, I realized that my camera bag was unzipped and my camera was stolen. I left messages with their office but they have not contacted me back. I will never go to this shop again.

Is there a reason you insist it was an employee here? It could have just as easily fallen out, without you re-securing the case first.

normally I'd agree with you ... if an item was left out in a restaurant or a hotel room.

but in this case no. there shouldn't be any reason another customer would have access to the contents of the car.

the problem the OP will have is proving that the camera was in the car in the first place. I'd suggest contacting the police department to see if you can file a report.

o wait you said "falling out" yeah. that's the rub. it'll be hard to prove it was in the car prior to service.

good luck though.
