Design and Interiors Complaint - Bad post sales service
LOS ALTOS, CA -- I would not recommend making purchases at Design and Interiors nor purchase TRS furniture. I say this because of the trouble I have with any post service support from this store. I recently purchase a $13,000 sectional made by TRS. As soon at it arrived I sat on one section of the sectional and it squeaked. I asked for a replacement of that section and the store said they would not replace the section but instead would have a TRS authorized dealer repair the section. As it turns out there is no local authorized repair shop. I was also told repairs could take one week for what they claim is a simple repair. I have also been told I can not witness any repairs made to the section. I have found the customer service completely lacking at this store. I feel like a under valued customer once I have paid for my purchase. I would recommend shopping elsewhere if you want to buy a quality piece of furniture.
My other problem is that I was mislead about the accessories for the sectional. It was my understanding that the pillows I purchased would be the same size as those on display with the sofa. The ones I received are much smaller. I was also told I had to pay an extra $240 for arm covers. I am told TRS is an exception and does not include arm covers after the fact.
On the contrary I bought a Stickley dinning set at Noriega Furniture in San Francisco. There was a ‘pea’ size mark on the dinning table, which could not be buffed out. The store replaced the whole table, so there are still furniture stores and furniture makers that stand behind the products they sell.
