Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. Informative - Get to work - disability

disability
Review by udontgetit on 2010-08-25
You people are a bunch of whiny babies. Disability is an income based benefit and subject to approval based on medical information provided. Just because you pay premiums does not entitle you to receive benefits! That's why they call them CLAIM FORMS, you are CLAIMING disability..it is up to YOU to prove you are disabled, not the insurance company. Yes, most, if not all of the claims seen are legit and people do get paid..Funny, we just did a claimant survey for first quarter 2010 and received a 96% customer satisfaction rating! Liberty can't stink that much! Oh, they have their down sides, believe you me, but all in all 99% of the case managers you deal with want to help claimants but if there is nothing to support your disability, you will be denied. SS denies more claims than private insurers, you PAY premiums for SS from your first day of work and no one gets on their cases. If you could see the fraud that goes on daily in the insurance world, you may think twice before you get on a website complaining that you were being cheated.

This review, is without a doubt, insulting to those who are seeking disability. The OP stated "it is up to YOU to prove you are disabled, not the insurance company."

I disagree. The "claimants" rarely, if ever, file a claim without a licensed medical doctor indicating they have a disability. Historically the insurer's reaction is to send the claimant to a doctor of their choice (and on their payroll) to try to disprove the claim.

People who have paid hard earned money for this type of insurance should not be subjected to this type of treatment. Albeit, there are those that will try to defraud the company, but the "hoops" and red tape the insurer makes a disabled individual jump through are innumerable.

It is common knowledge, that a claims adjustor, is not paid to approve claims, rather find reasons to deny them.

Wow, if you're a sample of the type of people I'd encounter at Liberty Mutual, I think I'll take my business elsewhere.

I agree with you CC. Seems like we have a disgruntled employee here. I'd hate to get this employee on the phone, sounds like a talk-downer. He/she is right, everyone else is wrong type of person. The worst kind. The difference between private insurance, and SS, is SS is ran by the government, and can pretty much get away with anything and do what they plese.

This informative could have been written so much better with just some facts to support an insurance company(s)' claim reviews process. This just comes off as an angry, demeaning tongue lashing that I'm sure will be an embarrassment to Liberty Mutual management if/when they see it.
