Cingular Wireless Complaint - AT&T to Cingular migration
BREMERTON, WASHINGTON -- I decided to migrate from AT&T to Cingular last week. What a mistake. In order to keep the discounted plan feature through my employer I had to contact the business department of Cingular via the telephone. The online and company stores are not set up to handle this type of account (AT&T was). The equipment discount that was available to me through AT&T has been discontinued even thought Cingular's business website indicates that I am eligable for a 39% discount. The Cingular website also indicated that I was to receive free overnight shipping of my new equipment, the best they would do is 3-day. I ordered the new service on Wednesday and as of Saturday afternoon they still had not shipped my new phones. Saturday evening I called and cancelled my new service and phone order. I have no doubt that they will not get this right and the phones will probably show up on Monday. Between Wednesday morning and Saturday evening I called Cingular 12 times. Each time required a minimum of 20 minutes on hold. Did I mention the 4 times I was put on hold and was then auto-transfered back to the automated customer service line that I started with originally, and another 20 minute wait to tell my story all over again. I think they just wanted me to go away. Every customer service rep that I talked to had a different story as to why my equipment had not shipped. I'm going to give Verison a try. I recommend avoiding Cingular. They just do not care about their customers. It must be nice to be so Self-important!
