Priceline.com Complaint - Bad Experience With Priceline.com
During a 12 hour driving trip, I booked a Waco, Texas hotel a few hours before I actually needed the room. I have used Priceline.com at least 20 times in the past and have always been happy using them to book hotels. When I arrived at my hotel, I was told that Priceline reservations only get a room with double beds. I never even knew that hotels had rooms with double beds any more. I thought they all had queen size or larger. The hotel would upgrade by room to a king bed for full price with no credit for what I already paid Priceline.com.
I called Priceline and they contacted the hotel to try to work something out. The hotel refused to give me a room with a decent sized bed for two people. Priceline said there was nothing more they could do. I understand when I used the "name your own price" option, I don't get a guarantee for a certain type of room but I have always gotten at least a queen sized bed and usually a king sized bed. This hotel would not work with me (not Priceline's fault) and if I had realized that I could get a double bed I would not have used Priceline. I thought I agreed to get at least a queen bed.
Priceline.com's customer service did help by trying to call the hotel but I feel they should have done more.
