Nationwide Corporation Complaint - Nationwide dirty - home owners insurance

home owners insurance - Complaint
Review by eclipse5 on 2010-08-28
RICHMOND, VIRGINIA -- Its time we all stand up to these dirty insurance companies using lying engineers and adjusters to screw honest people out of there money. My parents had bad hail damage from the storm here in waldorf Maryland like most insurance companies they lie and try all different types of bs to not pay. Im a contractor and along with 4 others saying both sides of my parents roof are damaged. The adjuster of 14 months said no hail damage at all. Well I said what is the 300-400 dings along the backside of the facia from, Ah no answer. Nationwide then sent an engineer out someone they know of coarse. When they told me he was comming from Baltimore and we live in southern Maryland I knew something was wrong. They could not get a engineer in our area to lie. Well there engineer said the right side wasn't damaged but the left side was. That showed me what the adjuster said was a lie. But how did the right side facia get all those dings and the roof never got touched. Bull I said and I have about four roofers that say its damaged from the hail. BEWARE PEOPLE THESE COMPANYS PAY GOOD MONEY FOR DIRTY OPPINIONS TAKE THEM TO COURT DONT WASTE TIME

This post does not suprise me. For two reasons:
1. In support of the poster, insurance adjusters are not paid to approve claims, they are paid, and often make bonuses, to keep claims approval at a minimum. Make no mistake, they don't work for you, and they are not "On your side."

2. In the obverse - most people rarely, if ever, go up on their roof or inspect the facia or rain gutters. They simply believe the roof will last forever. Itis possible, not likely though, that the damage to the facia was related to another storm other than the hailstorm in question.

Your experience only confirms my experiences in repairing Nationwide auto claims, and it doesn't matter if u r their insured (they r NOT on YOUR SIDE!!!)..or a claiment, or the poor repair shop that fixed ur car, or more commonly WANTED to fix ur car only to be told it was totalled according to THEIR NUMBER!!! Between me and 2 other local repair shops,we are facing 3 LAW SUITS COURTESY OF NATIONWIDE! The customers are long gone! But weeks, and in other case YEARS, they are seeking REIMBURSEMENT, because after claim is settled, and bills are paid, they come back to mom n pop shops saying they now "DISPUTE" what they paid us, and now, I quote.."DEMAND THE REIMBURSAL OF WHAT NATIONWIDE NOW DEEMS UNFAIR"!!!!!!!! CAN U BUY A TV, PAY FOR IT, AND THEN AFTER 2 weeks, say u dispute what u paid and DEMAND to be reimbursed??? OR WHEN CHARGES ON A "NATIONWIDE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED TOTALLED", ARE PAID, THEN, ALL OF THE SUDDEN U ARE BEING SUED BECAUSE THEY CHANGED THEIR MINDS,AND NOW WANT U TO PAY $ BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ALREADY REPAIRED THE CAR N DELIVERED IT!!!!!! I ALREADY PAID TOW COMPANY! THEY ARE PREDATORS!! HOW IS THAT RESPECTABLE BUSINESS PRACTICE???? This greedy, unfeeling, cut throat company makes me sick! My goal is only to provide quality repairs I can stand behind and make a tough time as easy as possible for my customers. Nationwide had quite a different agenda.
