Wal-Mart, Cape Coral, FL Complaint - Lousy Customer Service and not good on their word of Guarantee !!
CAPE CORAL, FLORIDA -- Back in May of 2010 late in the month around the 25 or so we purchased meat from their meat department. Some if which went into my freezer to be used at a later date. This past week 08/2010 I took out the meat I had frozen to have it for dinner and as it thawed there were little white spots on the meat so I put it back into the freezer to return it for a refund or exchange. When I went to the store on the 30th of August, today, I was told very rudely "there is nothing we can do for you. !!! " Then I got upset with that answer and stated back to them, "There is nothing you can do about this bad meat?? " Explaining it had been in the freezer since I had bought it. They still claimed there was nothing they were going to do for me with that. After standing there for a few moments the customer person looked at me and ask me if I wanted to exchange it for something else. I ask if that was what they could do for me, he replied that he would be happy to exchange it for me. So I went back and got something else to exchange it for, when I got back to the customer service counter with an exchange was serviced by yet another person. She then went and got a manager and they had conversation about the exchange and decided they would not make the exchange at all. Very rudely they just stated "NO" we are not going to do that. When I ask what the problem was they told me it was " past 90 Days.!! REALLY!!! it was 2 days past the 90 return policy. (Guess I will mark all my meats accordingly from now on.) As for the 90 day return policy that is new at Wal-Mart as far as I know and it doesn't apply to the meat dept purchases. That 100% guarantee is a flat guarantee, if not happy bring it back. !!! Nothing about 90 days. The fact that it was in the freezer straight from the store should be considered. After all isn't that why they make freezers to put stuff in for later use and still have the fresh quality ??!!! SO I paid $8.53 cents for this meat product because it was their so proud ANGUS meats.
This is not my first customer service visit with lousy service and rude employees at the desk. There have been other transactions with Wal-Mart ending very poorly. Would seem to me that when a company as big as Wal-Mart (so they think) offers lousy customer service and treats customers poorly where the rubber meets the road they would have first rate people on that ""CUSTOMER SERVICE "" desk.
I have been a mystery shopper for many companies and when it comes down to dealing with Wal-Mart they would get a -10 on my reports. Something they should be thinking about if they want to keep business. They do not know how to treat their own employees, their customers and really don't care so why should we consumers care about dealing with them when there are more choices out there that would be happy to take care of customers and treat them well.
It has been a practice of mine to do major shopping at one time and freeze meats and never in my life have ever had a problem with meats before this. I am use to getting meats and freezing them, when I take them out of the freezer they thaw and look as good then as the day I put them in the freezer.
Do not buy meat from them.!! I have had bad meat products before this time and just let it go. Never again. Wal-Mart has lost me as a customer to the tune of my shopping and spending at least $600.00 a month. I will take that somewhere else where they appreciate business and give good customer service.
