Idearc/Supermedia Scam Complaint - Misleading Contracts & Lying Sales Reps

Review by noeyc on 2010-09-01
What can I say every time they come to our office they offer some newfangled way to upsell us. We have not had the same representative in 5 years. They convinced us to sign paperwork and lied to us outright about what the content of the documents were- yes we did read the contract but they told us it was not what we thought it was and that he would have it changed. We should have known better but these folks lie to get a bonus check.

These are big ticket items for small businesses who believe and trust in these folks. They should pay every small business owner, who they misled into signing contracts. Our representative came in and would not show us the contract until the last moment and said at the last moment- oh remember we spoke about the white pages? well now you are going to show up in all the white pages...just add 20 dollars a month...but we don't want the white pages listing. we did not ask him for it. we actually told him we did not want it and this is how it happened last time.

This is the only company I know where the only way we pay less is by ordering more. What if we don't want more? Have you been mislead by idearc, supermedia, Verizon?

I think your business would be well served not to pay for these services. Most people I know, rarely, if ever pick up a telephone book - it is pretty much a thing of the past.

Why are you still allowing liars in your office? YP usage has declined over 60% since 2001.
