Spirit Airlines Complaint - Crooked Company
I bought a round trip ticket and paid the full price via a credit card. This included charges for a bag - $30; Seat charges of $28; and a $12 charge for travel insurance I didn't ask for and didn't want.
Within 15 minutes of the reservation I tried to cancel the insurance. I was directed to go to the insurer's (Travelguard) website. The web page for Travelguard did not load after repeated attempts.
I am still trying to cancel the insurance. Frustrated, I tried to cancel my flight reservation. I was told by the customer representative that I could cancel the reservation within 24 hours without penalty.
The catch is I will not be give a refund in cash or as a credit to my credit card. Instead, I will be given a credit by Spirit Airlines to be applied towards a future flight with them. Basically ensnaring me in a trap.
Bunch of crooks is what Spirit Airlines is.
