Martins Food Markets Harrisonburg Virginia Complaint - Caffeine Free Pepsi

Review by Timeshare Memories on 2010-09-03
Went to Martin`s on E. Market St. in Harrisonburg, Virginia 22801
tonight to purchase a few 2 liter bottles of Caffeine Free Pepsi.

Every Caffeine Free Pepsi on Martin`s shelves were outdated,
some expired back in May, but most expired in early August.

The Martin`s Beverage Dept. Manager needs to talk with their
Pepsi Delivery Person to remove these outdated Pepsi products.

Note: Always remember to check the sell by dates!

I agree, no matter what the item is, you should always check expiration dates. I'm sure the beverage department manager appreciated you bringing the expired soda to their attention.

what's the danger of pepsi being past the expiration date?

Flat taste???

Goduke, good question.

Off taste, especially if it is diet sodas, since aspartame tends to break down a few months past the expiration date, giving the diet soda a bitter taste.

I didn't know that, Nerd. I thought it just got flat. I know aspartame can lose sweetness in hot drinks so I guess it can break down in soda as well.

I'm guessing caffine free cola isn't a big seller.

Several of my friends drink diet, caffeine free soda. Odd, IMHO. I prefer diet because regular is too sweet tasting, but I would never give up my caffeine.

I drink diet also. I used to drink regular, until I realized how much sugar and calories are in one 12oz can. Insane. I also drink Crystal Light. I'm not a fan of just regular water, but don't want all that sugar. Crystal Light is a great alternative if you're looking for something sweet without the sugar, caffine, or carbonation.

Last time I drank a regular cola, I couldn't drink it because it was just so sweet. Once you get away from the sugared drinks, you never want to go back.

One can of soda contains about 13 teaspoons of sugar.
