USA3000 Complaint - Buyer Beware

Complaint
Review by kasz on 2010-09-06
We were stranded in Florid due to pilots strike by Spirit Airlines. At 3PM Saturday afternoon I then called the first airline I knew that flew out on Sunday that was USA3000. A reservationist said they had 3 seats available for my family, I was also told I had till 8PM Saturday to cancel.(She did not say it would only be a credit for a future flight.) Although the flight was a late evening one, I booked anyway because my wife, daughter, and I had to be back at our jobs on Monday morning and at least we had a reservation.
Since I could cancel the USA3000 I then called US Aiways and paid twice as much to get an AM flight, figuring it would be easier to find transportation in the morning than at 11 or 12 at night. Within 1 hour of making the USA3000 reservation I called to cancel and the representative told me it would only be a credit for a future flight. I protested and asked to speak with a supervisor. The supervisor was very understanding and said she could not change anything at that time but said she would note my file and on Monday morning I would get a call from them. She said it was possible they would refund.
Monday afternoon came with no call so I again called and asked for a supervisor who proceeded to tell me she saw the "note from Saturday" but since I didn't take the flight I was considered a no show and would neither get a refund or a credit. The note ment nothing.
