DOBS Doors Complaint - Defective $6000 front door
20 COTTAGE STREET-WARWICK, RHODE ISLAND -- On 8/27/2008, I signed a $6000 purchase and sales agreement with DOBs Doors for the installation of a new front door with speciality glass. The work was performed on September 15th 2008. In March of 2010, I noticed two small stress cracks on the inside of the speciality glass. I called DOBs Doors numerous times and did not receive one return phone call. No one answered the phone, I simply received a voice recording. After no responses, I contacted the Better Business Bureau. The BBB sent two certified letters to DOBs Doors without response. The cost of the glass in total at the time of the sales was $1920. There was no misuse of the door just simple opening and closing on occasion. The front door is not the main door into the house and is primarily used by guests on a limited basis. I believe that the glass should last longer than 1.5 years especially given the cost and the infrequent use of the door. I believe that the glass is simply defective and needs to be replaced by DOBs Doors.
