Serco Royal Corporation Complaint - SCAM - YOU HAVE WON $120,000 FROM SERCO

Review by midstreambend on 2010-09-07
OTTAWA, ONTARIO, CANADA -- I just received the same letter as another member, however, it was from a different company: Serco Royal Corporation. The letter claimed the company was based in Ottawa, Ontario, with headquarters in London. The letter contained a real-looking check for $4000.50 and said if I called the agent they would give me a code number that I could take to Western Union and I could pay the Government bond fees of $2980.00 and then would receive a second check for $116,000. I looked up the phone number online -- no such number listed. I checked the Better Business Bureau -- no such company, although there is a company called Serco in the United Kingdom, with US headquarters in New Hampshire -- however, no Serco ROYAL. From all I read online, I am assuming this is another scam. However, it looks VERY REAL.

ANY offer that tells you to wire transfer them money is FAKE

Write them back and tell them to deduct $5,000.00 from your prize, pay the "government bond" fee and keep the change - and send you the rest western union : )

ya its a scam. good for you for catching it. companies that have no business relationship with you, don't just send free money.

There's a new scam every day of the week and we members need to be continually reminded. I couldn't help but laugh at the response from leet60. I might just try that one myself.

I received a letter very similar to that about 3 years ago. the post mark was from canada and the check was from a bank in Austin, TX. I called the bank and they told me the check was forged from an account that had been comprimised.
I'm glad you didn't just follow the instructions and lose $2980.00. Good catch

WOW what a deal!! I'll send you a check for $4980 ($2000 profit) and have them send me the second check for $116,000. LMAO. This has SCAM written all over it. Probably originated in Nigeria where most of this crap comes from. Compare this to SPAM which 98% of us delete. They still make a killing on the 2% that fall for it. You were smart to investigate this. Sadly some people won't and will loose their money.
