Electrolux Complaint - Warning - Do Not Purchase
AUGUSTA, GEORGIA -- September 2010
Purchased Electrolux refrigerator in September 2009. Since our purchase we have called for service three times. From the onset, the icemaker doesn't make enough ice. The ice bin never fills. The computer chip for the icemaker was replaced. Still not making ice and now we have water dripping fron the ice dispenser.
Second call to service was for door gaskets, as they started to tear. It took two months to receive replacement gaskets. When they arrived they didn't fit properly. So they are being sent back and new ones are being ordered.
Third service call was to replace the icemaker computer board/chip, again. When our service man arrived and opened the box it was the wrong part.
Enclosed in the parts box was a piece of paper stating:
"Notice with regard to service parts and components
In order to provide timely service repairs, Electrolux may on occasion use factory reconditioned or refurbished parts or components. By accepting service you acknowledge that Electrolux may use reconditioned or refurbished parts or components in full satisfaction of its warranty obligations."
I feel that this is a substandard product and the Electrolux warranty for repairs is useless.
I'm curious to see just how long it takes for Electrolux to send the "reconditioned or refurbished" parts.
