Mccafferty supermarket, west windsor nj Complaint - Racist?
WEST WINDSOR, NEW JERSEY -- I've been a shopper with this supermaket for over 4 years now, I never had any problems until yesterday 9/10/2010 4PM.
I was at the deli counter waiting to be serviced, there were 2 people ahead of me, when their numbers were called, they just put them in the basket and placed their order. When my number was called, I held up my number which was 95 and went to put it in the basket, the man that was waiting on me would not allow me to put this number in the basket like the other customers before me, he wanted to see the number first before he would wait on me. I asked why he wanted to see the number on the paper, it was only me left to be waited on. He took the paper number, placed it behind the counter never in the basket, walked over and then took my order. After getting my order, I waited until other customers came up, 4 in total, I watch as their numbers were called, as each walked up and put their number in the basket, not being asked by the same man that had decided he would not take my order unless I gave him that little piece of paper that I wasn't allowed to put in the basket like everyone else. I saw someone who had worked for another supermaket now working for Mccafferty's to please call the deli manager for me, which he did. I explained the situation, I was told, they did not know why this person would do this, that he would be insulted as well. This manager in turn also called the store manager, and I explained again what happen.
I also like to say, I was the ONLY Black American in the deli area, and believe it or not, in the store at the time. I won't be shopping at Mccafferty's any longer, I had enjoyed there supermakert, now I will go to Wegman's, Shoprite, Superfresh from here on out.
I thank All in advance for taking the time to read this
