Extra Space Storage In Las Vegas Nevada Complaint - Extra Space Storage Facility Lied

Review by extraspace lied on 2010-09-12
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- I had a storage unit at the Buffalo location. I had that unit for 5 years. Due to illness and the economy I recently went up for auction. I had a lot of personal items in it. Most important I had personal paper and pictures. That meant a lot to me. I was told that it would be return to me. They had to return all personal items. Well 2 months later it is still not return and now they are telling me most likely it will never be return. That the people who bought it are not responding and or are saying they found nothing. All I know that it went to pahrump in the middle of no-where. The picture and papers are extremely important and dangerous to someone who has no intention in returning it due to identity theft. Selling personal information out.

For those who has a storage unit be forewarned anyone your life will be sold to the highest bidder. In which it is not much. Your life for a couple hundred buck if not less.

Extra space lied. They could of gotten it out and send it. But they did not care.

Storage places will not separate private property like photos, etc from other property. When someone does not pay their rent, the property in the storage room is sold at auction to try to recoup some of the back rent. When the room is auctioned off, EVERYTHING goes. It is up to you to maintain the rent on the storage space, and that way, you get your property back. They are not your baby-sitter, they are a business. If the buyer in due course is nice, they can find ID and contact you to return certain stuff, but don't count on it, not everyone is like my wife and I. We bought rooms at auction, sorted out what we couldn't sell, and if we found ID, tried to contact the previous owner, but were usually unsuccessful. Keep your rent paid up, it is no one's responsibility but yours.
