Europcar In Malaga Spain Complaint - Fraudulent Car Repair
July 2010 we reserved an automatic vehicle from Europcar Malaga airport. The representative delivered a standard that we were unable to drive. Immediately after he delivered the vehicle we called him back and told him that we were unable to drive this vehicle and to bring us the vehicle that we had reserved. He stated that he was at home eating and could not come back and pick up the vehicle and deliver the automatic. We then taxied to the airport and expalined our situation and they gave you an automatic. They asked if we had brought back the other vehicle and ew explained that we were not able to drive it since we only drove automatic. the next day they contacted us at the hotel and told us that we were being charged for the rental on the standard and for a burnt clutch. How could we have burnt the clutch on a vehicle that we did not even start or drive? We called our credit card company immediately and informed them of this fraud. We called Europcar and were told that we would be charged for both vehicles plus the repair on the vehicle we did not drive.
We are now in debt to them for over 2,000.00 and are fighting with our credit card company on this. If this is not resolved we will file fraud charges with the Malaga police department and file complaints on all internet sites and send out massive emails informing all travel companies and tourists that this company is crooked and should not be trusted.
