Comcast Corporation Complaint - Comcast errors at my expense!
For the second time this year, my Comcast did not process my payment. I am writing this complaint letter because the account is in my husband's name and Comcast will not talk to me because my name is not on the account. The first time this happened, I didn't think much of it. It was in March of this year, I made a payment via the Comcast website and it was never processed. There was plenty of money in my checking account when I submitted the bill for payment and all of the bills I paid that day cleared my bank, so I chalked it up to a minor error on Comcast's part. And now it just happened again. I paid (or so I thought) my last bill on September 1, 2010, which was payday so there was more than enough money in my account to cover my bills. Anyway, that day, the Comcast website was going extremely slow and after I entered my payment information, the pop up screen turned white and failed to display the next step, which is to confirm and submit payment. I waited several minutes and exited the Comcast website. I wasn't sure if my payment went through or not so 2 hours later, I decided to try again. After entering my payment info, the confirmation screen appeared, I submitted my payment and the "thank you" screen popped up. I assumed my payment went through and didn't think about it again until this afternoon, when my husband received a collections call from Comcast because we are now technically 2 months past due. This is now the second time your website has malfunctioned at my expense- Yes a $4.75 late fee is not that bad when you think about, but why should I have to pay a late fee when Comcast screws up? That is absurd and unacceptable. I also find it odd that Comcast does not send an e-mail confirmation when you pay your bill at Comcast.com. I realize the only way to know for sure that my payment was successful is to check my bank account, but I would like Comcast to send out confirmation e-mails when a payment is made successfully so I at least know that my payment really was transmitted successfully and in the event that Comcast doesn't process my payment, I at least have documentation showing my bill was paid on time and avoid a late fee!
