Juniper/Barclay Complaint - They Closed My Account
Unbelievable! I have had my card since 2006, and had nearly a $3000 limit. I have been paying $75.00 a month steadily and have never been late. I got tired of such a high balance, so I decided this month to give them a $1,000 payment. The very day I did that, they lowered my credit limit - just about by the amount I paid down.
I called them today, and they said they did a "credit review" - and, by the way, they just noticed that I have other cards in a debt management program, so that means that JUNIPER must close my account, but "we appreciate your business."!!! Do you believe that? I questioned that they closed my account because of my other situation, even thought I had a sterling clean record with them. I was told it was bank policy.
Now I have to try to get the remaining $1600 together to pay them off . . . damned if I'm going to pay finance charges if they closed my account.
Has anyone else had a similar situation? All I wanted to do was to pay down my account to have a little emergency credit cushion.
