Anniversary Inn - Boise ID Complaint - STOLEN PROPERTY

Review by Little Red Hen on 2005-02-23
BOISE, IDAHO -- My husband and I stayed for one night at this hotel in Boise. The next day after we left I found that I was missing our expensive 35mm camera. I knew I had left it on the table in the room just before we left because I had just taken 4 pictures of the room. When we called the hotel to ask them to look for the camera, they immediately informed us that it was not there (without even searching the room first- we had to ask several employees to search the room). They also informed us that "sometimes guests take things from each other's rooms", implying that another guest probably took the camera. Since I know that the camera was there just before we left, and I pulled the door shut as we left, I knew that only someone with a key from the hotel could have entered the room. We had left our room key on the table when we left. We filed a police report, but of course, nothing was done. When the manager finally returned from vacation 3 days later, she had a "well too bad for you" attitude, and refused to even acknowledge our loss. I am very angry!

If you have stayed at this hotel and have had property turn up missing, please email me at: vkg_grl@yahoo.com
According to the hotel manager, "no one has EVER made this complaint before" I find that hard to believe. Since no one had actually filed a police report about this hotel before, nothing else could be done. The lack of physical evidence of theft is not all that surprising when the hotel staff automatically blames the guests!!
