Skype Complaint - I really expected more from Skype...
I am a service member serving in Kuwait and wanted a Skype on-line number to receive calls. Skype would not take a credit card because the ip was from Kuwait and I had to explore other payment options. After three days of getting nowhere with Skype's Customer Service, I gave up and got my wife to create a brand new account from scratch in the States. She also experienced their convoluted process but eventually got a payment to go through via Western Union. I can see the payment in Skype, however, they applied the money to their Nationwide calling plan, which I did not ask for and do not need, not to the Online number. I asked for the money to be refunded, but I do not have it and do not see that any action is being taken on their part to refund it.
After I started googeling for complaints against Skype, I discovered that Google offers both services for free. I now have an online number with Google for incoming calls and have used their calling service as well. Both work great and they are FREE!
