General Motors Complaint - OASIS Chevrolet - The Corvette Specialist (NOT)
I warn all Corvette owners, if you have to have your car repaired stay away from OAISIS Chevrolet. They are the worst service shop I have ever used to attempt repairs on my car.
I brought my car in complaining about a vibration noise that was coming from the base of the windshield and dashboard on the passenger side. They had the car for over a week trying to diagnose the issue and came up with some lame reason they thought was the problem, charged me $150 and sent me on my way.
After I returned the car the next day, complaining the problem was not corrected they kept it for still yet another week, trying to diagnose the problem for the 2nd time, came up with another lame reason they thought was the problem, charged me another $150, sent me on my way, sure enough the problem was still not fixed.
This time I asked the service writer do you think you can fix it or should I go to another Chevy dealer who specializes in Corvettes (Kerbeck), he said give us another shot and promised not to keep the car for another week. I laughed at him and said after 2 failed attempts and $300, no chance. I told him I would call GM, to see if they new how to correct the problem and attempt to be compensated for my time and expense incurred at OAISIS.
Well suffice to say dealing with GM proved to be just as ineffective, as they couldn’t recommend a solution or obtain a refund of my $300 from OASIS. They offered me plenty of apologies and a meager maintenance credit of $100 that would be applied to me next service at OAISIS (NOT!).
I finally decided to take matters into my own hands and called a real Corvette specialist Chuck (COW), who said bring it around and he would look at it and try to figure it out. And true to his word, he dropped what he was working on; test drove the car, heard the strange noise, and quickly figured out a diagnostic course of action. Within a span of a couple hours he corrected the problem and I have not an issue since. Great Job Chuck!
I must say in a time when GM is trying to reinvent themselves as the new more customer focused and technologically advanced car maker, this experience was terrible and a sad commentary about GM. I had to take the car to a real Corvette specialist instead relying on a Chevy dealer to fix the problem and could not get any satisfaction from GM.
It is the same old GM with just a new advertising campaign.
