Tire Kingdom, Mandeville, La Complaint - Beware! - Brakes

Review by mes2515 on 2010-09-20
MANDEVILLE, LOUISIANA -- Well, we had an unfortuante incident at the Mandeville, LA store. The guy Mike told my wife over the phone that the price to change out brake pads and turn the rotors was $209. So, we took out vehicle in several days later, asked for Mike, and said that we were there to get our minivan worked on. I said that he had quoted us $209. He said "Well, let's take a look and see what we got, so he had them jack it up and came back about 20 minutes later, and gave us a price of $346. I asked him WTH! He added a brake flush and something else, so I told him what it would be to do the brakes and turn the rotors like he said. He said it would be around $263 and that was the lowest he would go. I said to forget it and he said that it was going to take pretty long to get my car down since it was jacked up with the tires off. Almost as if I had no choice. So I went ahead and paid this crook, and I will never go to another Tire Kingdom again. Why did we get a quote over the phone and have a higher price for the exact same work that he quoted over the phone?

They screwed us over. We couldn't afford it either.

I wouldn't have let his extortion tactic work on me.

Yeah, well we had already waited about 20 min. and I just went ahead and did it. I knew I wouldn't do it again, so I thought I would warn others.

I had the same issue ... But the only difference between what was quoted on the phone and the total in the store was the tax ... But I could understand that. None of the sales flyers I get in the mail have tax included either.
