AT&T Informative - Crooks for 30 yrs and counting
In the 80's, AT&T was notorious for adding 2+ hour phone calls to land line phone bills. If you catch it, they simply removed it with an apology, but the scamming was to collect on the 98% of the people that didn't look over the bill.
I signed a contract to put my business on yellowpages.com through AT&T. For the entire 1 yr contract life, I have never received any statistics on clicks or referrals, etc. The only information that reminded me I was even remotely connected with AT&T was the $600 charge on my credit card every month. When the contract ending date neared, one of the two original salesperson came into the store. After explaining the unsatisfactory results, the very professional salesman almost convinced us into signing another year for a cheaper price but with more area coverage. The next day a decision was made to end the relationship with AT&T and Yellowpages.com. After several emails and messages, we did not receive a single response. It's like these guys are CIA agents and never existed. Now that the contract is over, of course the credit card was continuing to be charged. The credit card company froze the money until they can contact AT&T, leaving me here in the dark waiting for any word. The next credit card statement came, and not only was the frozen money given to AT&T, they continued to charge us again this month. Now after threatening to close down the credit card account to stop this robbery, the " Retention " department got on the phone and seemed genuinely concerned about this issue. They said that they had contacted AT&T and was told the account is NOT CANCELED nor is their any remarks for a pending cancellation, so they went ahead and unfroze the money in question and let them charge us continually after. I will now go file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Oh and these shadow CIA agents went by the names of Edwin Cerda and Burke Neville. If they walk into your establishment, don't sign anything without a lawyer present, who will just tell you don't sign anything with these crooks.
