CellularSouth Informative - BEWARE - Service and HTC Desire
SOUTHAVEN, MISSISSIPPI -- I made the worst mistake when I decided to sign a contract with CellularSouth on September 18, 2010 and purchase a HTC Desire. The phone worked Saturday then Sunday September 19, 2010 it would not power on or off. I called the help line was told to remove the battery and put it back in. When I did that the screen came back on and I thought problem solved. About 30 seconds later the phone again wouldn’t power on so the CellularSouth Rep told me to take the phone back to the store. I went to the store in Southaven where I purchased it. A young man helped me and started to remove the battery. All of a sudden he got a panicked look on his face and said he was going to go get a new battery and try and “jump start it.” About 5 minutes later he came back and told me the phone had a pressure fracture on the inside screen. I asked him how I knew he didn’t crack my screen since he took it out of my site.
I then asked to speak to the manager who thought she was too cute for her own good. She was condescending and told me she would do a warranty out of the goodness of her heart but she didn’t have to. She also told me it would cost me $210.00 because of the pressure crack. I have canceled my service and will fight the $360 dollar cancellation fee (they say I owe this even after I canceled within a 14 day window.
Save yourself a lot of grief and go with another carrier or stay with the one you have. No one can be worse the CellularSouth. I went crawling back to AT&T after I told them I would never be back.
