Pep Boys Complaint - $1100.00 in Unneeded Repairs - Problem Still Not Fixed!
My car was stalling when cold. I took it to Pep Boys and they recommended a tune-up and system flush ($250).
After that work was completed I went to start the car in the lot and it stalled. They then told me they couldn't understand the error codes so they said the problem was that I needed a new computer.
After spending $1'100.00 I went out to the lot to drive my car home and it stalled again.
The assistant manager told me that the computer was bad and should have been replaced even if that wasn't the issue.
I responded the car was brought in to repair its stalling when cold. It was not brought in for them to replace each and every part they determined should be replaced.
Since the car is doing the very exact thing as it was doing before I bought it to Pep Boys then the computer should not have been changed.
• The service staff is skipping work they are charging for – They never rotated the tires.
• I have paid $1’100.00 of car repairs that was unnecessary for the problem I brought the car in for.
