General Motors Informative - Parts Ripoff - Seat Adjuster Cable
Recently had one side of pax seat fail to move when trying to adjust seat forward/back. Found flexible drive cable from motor to worm drive was barely inserted into the worm shaft and the end had rounded enough so that it was not driving the worm shaft. Went to dealer to buy a replacement cable (about a 10 inch long flexible drive cable). Cable not sold separately, only the entire seat adjuster assembly with all the motors, the rails, and mechanisms for up-down, back and forth and recline movements was available. Cost: $620.00 + $270.00 for installation. $890.00 for what should cost about $10.00 to fix.
Been driving GM cars for forty years but this will be the last one,. and it will henceforth have a non-adjustable pax seat.
