Centerpoint Industries Complaint - Excuses, anyone? (there's lots to go around!)

Review by 573v3 on 2010-09-23
HOUSTON, TX -- I'm ashamed of myself. For the first time I can remember, I actually lost it and yelled at a secretary yesterday. I should have been yelling at her boss. (Yes, I did call back and apologize.)

Getting her boss to call me back was a challenge for several weeks. I tried a couple dozen calls, ranging from one to four per day, and that didn't work. Well, occasionally I'd get hold of the owner, but that was rare, and callbacks even rarer. What did work was: 1. threatening legal action, 2. informing him of the online reviews I'm posting, 3. filing a BBB complaint, and now 4. yelling at his secretary.

Well, when I say it "worked," I mean he took time to call me back and give me another excuse as to why the machines still haven't shipped. Real action? I haven't yet figured out how to accomplish that.

It's been eight weeks since I placed the order for 3 vending machines, which were supposed to be delivered in "10 to 14 days." By contract, he has till a week from today to deliver, but only in the case of "acts of God, unavoidable delay," etc. He has given me no evidence that this is the case, but I'll give him the benefit of the really big doubt and wait another week. Meanwhile, I'll try to limit my yelling to someone who can get something done. I just haven't found them yet.

Interesting review. The yelling probably isn't good for your blood pressure, but the other strategies hopefully got results.

I've got to admit, that was good to have called her back to apologize. Many people have a problem accepting when they're wrong.

In this case, though, you have a contract as to when you're able to receive the units. Seems like a good fail safe.
