CoreComm Complaint - Cancellation Issues - Internet Services

Internet Services - Complaint
Review by bormal on 2010-09-23
WILLIAMSVILLE, NEW YORK -- I called to cancel my account with CoreComm in June and was told by Customer Service that I had until July 23rd to cancel by mail. I sent the company a letter via snail mail canceling service as directed in the first week of July. CoreComm continues to bill me and threaten collection activity.

I was a long term subscriber to their service and even re-subscribed in 2007-after this experience I would never do this again- would not recommend anyone get involved with this company.

I have tried talking to their "accounts receivable" representatives and, like others have also mentioned- they just hang up on me. When I have asked for a supervisor, I was told that there is no one higher in the department.

I have filed a complaint with the BBB- but I note that the company has an F rating with them due to non response from many consumer complaints.
BEWARE!!!

When you need to cancel any type of service, your best bet to protect yourself, would be to send your letter of cancellation, USPS return receipt requested. This way you will receive a card back with a signature, showing the company received your letter of cancellation, as well as proof you sent the letter. Using regular mail does not show that you sent it, nor that they received it. Resend it, using the above method.
