Target Complaint - CHECK TARGET RECEIPTS! Persistent Overcharging on Sale Items!
ORLANDO, FLORIDA -- CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS AT TARGET STORE - PERSISTENT, and I now believe DELIBERATE, OVERCHARGING ON SALE ITEMS! I am convinced that after 2 years of calling problems of overcharging on sales items to Target's attention and having the problem go unresolved that deception by overcharging is DELIBERATE, particularly at Target Store in Hunters Creek, Orlando, Florida. I was again overcharged for items marked at sale price only to be charged full price at the register. This Target Store is notorious in its persistence in this problem, and after calling this to the attention of both store and corporate for 2 years, I believe this type of overcharging is deliberate. Once again, a sign for item sale priced at 63 cents is rung at regular price 1.27. As usual, I must go to Customer Service where clerk does not understand what has happened, where after another 8 minutes the manager finally waltzes over to try to correct the problem. I explain to the manager that this is persistent deception by this store which has gone unchecked for the past 2 years when 9 out of 10 times I shop here I have to go to Customer Service to have overcharges reimbursed and that I believe this is deliberate. How many customers are like myself who have to check their receipt for accuracy? I would bet that more often than not, customers DO NOT CHECK their receipts either because they feel items are being rung correctly or that they just don't have time to stand in another line at Customer Service for many minutes to have errors corrected that should not have occurred, despite putting that little bit of money back in their pockets. I found out how important it was to check my receipts 2 years ago when I was overcharged 5.82 for a can of 47 cent item at this very Target in Hunters Creek, Orlando, FL. To add insult to injury, I call corporate Target at 1-800-440-0680 and talk to representative who tells me she'll send this up the food chain but says she doesn't need to take my name or phone number because "we don't call people back." So, in essence, I have no assurance that the deliberate overcharging will cease, and I just wasted 60+ minutes of my time in handling this with Customer Service at the store and on a lengthy telephone call with Corporate. I told her that Target has done nothing to assure me that this will be handled appropriately, and Target does nothing to inspire customer loyalty. Apparently, now all that I am doing is costing Target money because I have called attention to what appears to be their DELIBERATE DECEPTION TACTICS in overcharging unsuspecting customers enticed to buy something they may or may not have originally purchased AT WHAT THEY THINK THEY ARE GETTING At A SALE PRICE but, in fact, will be charged full price at the register.
