Whirlpool - Don't Buy a Cabrio
Cabrio washing machine - Complaint
I bought my Cabrio washing machine in June 2007. At the end of August 2010, I noticed a leak and called the company. The first technician they sent couldn't find a problem. The second technician couldn't find anything either. The second technician came back, looked at me and said, "Not you again.", still couldn't find a problem and left.
My machine continued leaking and I was unable to use it.
My fourth visit was from a technician with another repair company (also sent by Whirlpool). He found a problem, ordered the part and came back, only to find that he had the wrong part. A week later, he was back, installed the part but would not reconnect the machine to check that everything was working.
I had the machine reconnected, after totally reconfiguring my laundry room (for easier access to the machine) and having a new base built since the leaking had caused the old base to rot and fall apart. I used the "repaired" machine four times and guess what? It still leaked.
Whirlpool is sending a technician out again, but I will have to pay for the repairs.
My Cabrio is 3 years old. With taxes, delivery and installation, it cost a bit over $1,000 (Can.). My laundry room renovations cost $500. I have already paid almost $400 in technician visits. I have paid at least $50 in laundromat visits. And I have been without a properly functioning washing machine for 2 months.
What's wrong with this picture?
I feel that the Whirlpool product that I bought is of poor quality. The technicians have yet to solve the problem and the company's customer service does not impress me in the least.
This will certainly be the last time I buy anything by Whirlpool.
