AAA Complaint - Long Delay in Sending Road Service and Didn't Reimburse as Promised
ROBBINSVILLE, NEW JERSEY -- I had an accident on 8/18/10 and the first thing I did was call AAA for a tow as my car was partially in a ditch and partially in the roadway. I was told a tow truck would be immediately dispatched. Several minutes later a state trooper arrived on the scene and due to the dangerous situation he also called a tow company. I contacted AAA for an ETA and was told that the tow truck should arrive shortly. I received another call from AAA stating that there would be a further delay. Quite sometime later the tow truck the trooper had called arrived. I contacted AAA and they stated that they would reimburse me as the tow truck they dispatched did not make it out in time.
I processed the necessary form for reimbursement for the $150.00 I paid the towing company and after several weeks and no response I contacted them by phone. Several weeks later I received reimbursement for $50.00. I disputed this as they could not provide service in a timely manner and had stated that I would be reimbursed for the costs. Long story short, they refused to pay the additional $100 as they state they only reimburse their tow companies $50.
I am paying for the PLUS plan coverage and AAA could not provide a tow in a timely manner, and they wouldn't reimburse my costs due to their inability to provide the service I paid for. AAA is clearly not dependable and their customer service is horrendous. What good are they if they cannot provide the very service you are paying for? No good and a major disappointment.
