Briggs Complaint - Blown Motor In 3 Months

Review by Fields guy on 2010-09-28
I put in a brand new motor 3 months ago and lost a cylinder, yet Briggs will not cover it under warranty. I have been in the business over 20 years and have never had a problem like this, but have never been a big fan of Briggs.

The customer service representative was very rude and provided no info.

I will never purchase another BS motor again and I suggest the same for you all.

Not covered after only three months, don't you get at least a year with it? Are claiming you caused it in some fashion?

I would try taking it up with the BBB. I'm not saying you will get any results but its worth a shot.

All the BBB does is take complaints. They do not resolve things for people. In fact, the way people get into the BBB book, the thin book, that's like a phone book, is to pay an annual fee. Then they are in the BBB book. So then people think, oh well if they are in the BBB book, then they must be great to deal with, when all it means, is they paid their dues, got into the book, and obtained the BBB sticker they put in the windows/doors of their business. People think they have a place that's BBB approved, when all it means again, is the company is paying for the BBB to allow them to advertise themselves as BBB approved.

perhaps they won't cover it because it was misuse that caused the problem.
