Cardo Systems Inc Complaint - Cardo/Scala You are out of luck if out of Warranty.

Review by mdc22 on 2010-09-28
PITTSBURGH, PA -- After paying $383.98 plus tax for our Scala Q2's in May of 2008, our scala's are now worthless. It seems that if the boom/mic breaks off and your product is out of warranty Cardo will not fix it even if you are willing to pay for the repair. Their solution? Buy a new one. The product works great when the mic doesn't break off in your hands due to a very poor design.

So that averages out to about $200 a year cost to be able to talk to your spouse/partner when riding on separate motorcycles.

Kind of expensive.

You could try to repair it yourself. I'm not defending them not fixing it, but it just looks like some soldering and electrical tape might give you a quick fix.

Soldering might work if I can figure out a way to keep the whole thing attached since the little plastic/rubber piece that holds it in place is also broken. Maybe epoxy.

You could also just purchase a replacement microphone and speaker assembly. They're only like $30 bucks on cardo website.
