Sprague's Snapshots Complaint - Not receiving wedding pictures
LIMA, OHIO -- On the 9th of August me and my wife got married in Cataumet, MA. My wife had found a photographer from the company Sprague's Snapshots, through her friends in New Hampshire. We made a verbal agreement that she was going to do our wedding photography for the amount of $350.00. We would receive the wedding pictures on a flash drive in the mail after the wedding.
On the wedding day she took the pictures and everything was fine. We paid her in cash and she told us that she would send the pictures Wednesday or Thursday. However, no pictures came. We tried to get in touch with her through Facebook, where she has her personal and her professional page. However, we got little response. She did post the pictures online on Facebook, but those are of much less quality than the originals that she agreed to mail us.
On the 6th of September we called her and we told her that we had not received any pictures yet. She said she had sent them out twice. We asked if she had a tracking number, but she didn't have it. She had sent the flash drive in a regular envelope. We asked her if she could send it again through FedEx and we offered to pay the cost for that. The photographer wanted to wait until Friday because she was sure the pictures would be there by then.
On Friday we did not receive anything. We tried calling her, but she did not pick up the phone anymore. We could see on facebook that she was using the phone to post there and so she had the phone in her hand, but was not answering our calls. We tried to call her until Monday. That day we received an empty envelope in the mail. You could see the marks where the letter sorting machine had gotten stuck and ripped the flash drive out. Since the photographer was not answering our calls, we posted a picture of the envelope on her Facebook page and told her that we would like to pay for another shipment through FedEx. Again she did not respond.
We contacted the Better Business Bureau, although since the photographer had moved from New Hampshire to Nantucket and at the end of August to Lima, Ohio, we had no address of her. The BBB tried to find a current address, but was unable to do so. They suggested that we would continue leaving the photographer stern messages on her Facebook page and contact the Lima Police Department, because we know that she is living there.
If anyone has any advice on what to do next, we would very much appreciate it. All we want are our wedding pictures. We do not want the money back.
