International Motor Productions Complaint - Couldn't Be Bothered

Review by tabbymc3 on 2010-09-30
CARROLLTON, TEXAS -- Looked at purchasing a vehicle from this dealership. When asked to see the car, the sales guy acted like he couldn't be bothered to get up out of his chair to show the car. He did not know any information regarding the car. No details, no history, no offer to show a Carfax review, no nothing. Needless we walked away from the car.

This place lost out on a cash deal sale because of their lack of knowledge about a product, and their unwillingness to assist with a sale. What POOR customer service!

How this place manages to sell cars is beyond me.

*Salesman thinks to himself*: "Forget this guy. He's sportin' cash. I ain't gonna be able to screw him in the financing.......NEXT?!"

I had a similar situation when at a Nissan dealership. Wouldn't give me a price unless I drove the vehicle. 30 minutes/2 miles later the Dodge dealership got my cash for a Dakota.

Salesmen are a strange lot.

Thats exactly how I will purchase a new vehicle is by cash... that is when I win the lotto. I dont like financing.

I walked into a Nissan Dealer with financing in hand as well; the sales manager told me it would be better if I took my business elsewhere.

The next day, I bought a Trailblazer. Turns out, he did me a huge favor.

MDS, just goes to show you; these dealers, Nissan especially, make a pile of loot if you let them do the financing.

Best part was the Chevy dealer told me that my financing was good, but they would try to do better if I wanted them too. In the end, I walked out with 60 months @ 0%. There was some number jockying, but I did some quick math and took them up on their offer. I saved about $3000 over the 5 years.

The same thing happened to a friend of mine at the local toyota dealer. He ended up buying the exact same truck at a Toyota dealer in a larger city 70 miles away for the same cash price. Good review!
