Bank of America Compliment - New ATMs Allow You To Deposit Checks With No Envelopes Required
That's right, this is a POSITIVE review of BOA, specifically regarding their new ATM deposit format. I've been with them for years but rarely use an ATM for deposits. Their new system is something anyone who does though would be reason enough to switch banks, especially if you ever deposit cash. Just like the ads, I put a check in, the system read it, deposited it and gave me a receipt with it scanned as an image. No envelopes or deposit slips to fill out, and if their ever was a discrepancy, I can show the exact check I deposited. For someone who has reasons to deposit cash at an ATM, this takes all the risk factor out in my opinion. It scans the cash and gives you a picture as proof.
Now before all the BOA whiners start, I only recommend this bank to those who can handle accounts without kiting or over-drafting. While I can't think of any good bank for that group, this one certainly won't do you any favors. If you're like me, however, and can have a bank account for 13 years with them and not write bad checks, then you find the institution to be more than sufficient with a great ATM deposit service.
