Sears Repair Service (A And E) Complaint - Don't Buy Extra Warranty Time
TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA -- We called the 1-800 number on the instruction manual that came with our Whirlpool stove when the message came on our stove showing 'LOC' and we couldn't use the oven. Our stove is no longer under warranty so we were given a date for the following Wednesday, no one came. We called again; we did have a repairman come the next Wed and fixed it; we were charged the bottom line 'house call' fee of $129.
My dad, who had called for service before us, has a stove still under warranty; 2 of the cooking 'eyes' don't work; he was given an appointment 4 weeks out from the time he called.
Bottom line, why buy the extra warranty when your call is going to be put on the 'bottom of the pile'? Maybe the thought is you will go ahead and pay someone local to fix it rather than wait for their repairman.
