Kroger Compliment - Great taste and great price!

Review by 136054 on 2010-10-01
I realize that there are several different companies on the market that sell the same style of beverage mix, with Crystal Light being one. But I am posting a review of this product because it is slightly cheaper and tastes just as good. For those that keep close tabs on their calorie count, this offers a serving size with only 5-calories! No fat, sodium, carbohydrates, sugars, and such. They usually run the same sale of three boxes for $5. Each box contains 10-packets, so without grabbing your abacus, that makes a total of 30-packets for only $5.

I keep an empty 32-oz. bottle at work, and use it to make the drinks. The same size bottle of Gatorade or Powerade is usually between $1-$2, depending on their current sales promotion. If I bought 30 bottles of their drinks, that would come out somewhere between $30-$60! This product is only $5 for the same amount of beverage, meaning if I drink about 2 per day, then I can have beverages at work for three full weeks for only $5!

The only knock I have against it is that the instructions say to add the contents to a 16 to 20-oz bottle of water, and the flavor is "WAY" too strong! I have had my family taste test them as well, and all have agreed that it is too strong. I have doubled the dilution ratio, thus my 32-oz bottle at work, and it tastes perfect! Just like something you'd buy pre-made in the cooler section of a convenience store.

Not to mention much healthier than the sugar laden sports beverages!

I like King Soopers light beverage mixes, but I still prefer Crystal Light and they are on sale this week at KS. There is defintely a better taste with the Crystal Light, but this is just my opinion. You'll never find any sugar laden beverages in this house. We are a high strung family as it is, lol.

I prefer King Soopers (KROGER) as well. They are less expensive than the Safeway across the street BUT Safeway brand 'pop' is much better.
