Foxfire Grill Compliment - An excellent restaurant experience
ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA -- I've seen several comments on my3cents where people express a preference for a locally-owned and managed restaurant over a chain location. Foxfire Grill is a perfect example of why people feel that way.
Based on three occasions when my wife and I have had dinner there, it's hard to point out any single aspect of dining at Foxfire that makes it seem so great. One things we really like is the diversity of the menu. It would be hard for me to imagine that anyone couldn't find something that that appeals to them. Some things are done very simply and traditionally while others offer a little creative originality.
Everything we've had has been prepared with excellence and the kind of attention to detail that makes a meal really satisfying.
Service in smaller places can be a little strange sometimes. But, in our experience, the three different servers we've had have each been pleasant, accommodating, and highly professional. Suggestions are offered without any selling and we've never felt rushed or hustled. One of the times we were there, they were really busy but everything was still handled beautifully.
A big plus for us is the low-priced wine list. They've gone out of their way to find some really great wines for under twenty bucks a bottle. This is an addition to a regular wine list that also looks quite reasonable and tempting, as well as a full bar.
You'll see lower prices on menus elsewhere but I'd be hard put to find any restaurant anywhere around Northern Virginia where you'll get the value in overall quality and service that we've enjoyed at Foxfire. It's truly fine dining in a most pleasant and relaxed atmosphere.
So, if you live anywhere near Annandale and haven't been to Foxfire Grill, you're missing out. And if you're visiting, you owe it to yourself to give it a try.
