EZ Rent A Car Complaint - These people are scam artists

Review by spaulv86 on 2010-10-03
ORLANDO, FLORIDA -- Wow where do I begin. My wife and I flew to Orlando for our honeymoon. First time travelers, we found Ez to have the best rates....to begin with that is. When we went up to the desk, the service was absolutely dreadful. The bill, which started out and $250 for a week, ended up being close to $500 at the end. So we rented the car, I asked them if it was reliable as we are first time travelers and plan on some sight seeing. I was told it was brand new so no worries. We got the car and drove off. driving down the road we saw a gas station and decided to stop. When we went to leave the car would not start. I called EZ and they said they could have a new car for us in an hour. WE WERE THREE MILES AWAY!!! So two hours later they show up with a new vehicle. We drove off and enjoyed our vacation. This was over a month ago, the other day I open my mailbox to find a $700 bill because they apparently had to replace the hood and bumper because of an accident we got in to. The best part? THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT!!!! The car was in the same shape when we left as when we got it. The paperwork we filled out before and after we had the car states that the car was not damaged in any way. These people will whatever they can to sponge money off of you. Do not rent from them...we have notified our attorney and are in the process of filing a complaint with BBB. As I have seen here I am not the only one getting screwed by these people. If your are reading this, please listen...do not rent from these scam artists, go with a bigger name, you will pay less in the end.

Fight them. Talk to a lawyer, many will give you 1/2 - 1 hour free. This is a common scam among the rental car companies.

I grow weary of hearing complaints such as this. It seems to have happened with all car rental companies and I wonder when those places will discover enough is enough and consumers are fed up. The bigger name is no assurance this won't happen. Thanks for your helpful review. Another company to add to the list.

Dispute the bill through your credit card company. They will investigate this fradulent charge and, hopefully, have your charge reduced to what you actually owe. This has worked for me in the past.

Thank you for the post on this rental agency. Hopefully it will save others from the same grief.
